We Often Hear Apathy Is Consent
If that is true for you, then you don’t need to come to the Community Meeting on April 17th. But if you want your ideas about our trails, open spaces, courts, playgrounds, and our other outside amenities to be heard, plan to be at this meeting. Our consulting partner, HCM, has designed preliminary concepts for the outdoor spaces at each of our recreational sites: Solitude, Vista, Foothills, and our trails. Working again in small groups, we will be moving game pieces on concept boards to come up with our own unique ideas for each area.
Pizza and snacks will be served at 5:30, and child care will be provided for your little ones. As before, children ages 7 and up are invited to participate in the actual game! RSVP for pizza and/or childcare below.

Date/Time: April 17, 2018 5:30; workshop at 6 pm
Where: Flatirons Community Church, the large room upstairs

Extreme Fire Danger!

Unseasonably warm temperatures, low humidity and high winds have triggered extreme fire danger warnings for half of Colorado including the Front Range and the Eastern Plains. With state fire officials warning that Colorado is experiencing its third driest winter on record — after 2002 and 2012, both devastating wildfire seasons — now is the time to take steps to protect your property and finances against fire risk. The Genesee Fire and Safety Committee has links to numerous documents on the Foundation website www.geneseefoundation.org. as well as access to registration information for CodeRED Emergency Alerts and the Jeffco Sheriff’s blogspot. Registering for each of these will ensure that you have the most up-to-date information about all emergencies in our area.

CPR/AED Class for Non-Medical Professionals

Highland Rescue Team will offer a CPR/AED class for non-medical professionals on Wednesday, May 9, at 6:30 pm at the fire station (23455 Currant Dr). The class will take approximately 2 hours and will include CPR for adults, children and infants, AED use in adults and children, and choking relief. The class is offered at no cost although a donation to the Highland Rescue Team Foundation would be appreciated. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent. Class size is limited so you must sign up in advance.

To reserve your place, e-mail geneseefiresafety@gmail.com and include your name, telephone number and address, or call Nancy Balter (303-526-5244).
