Looking east toward the Miners Mile trail, you can see second & third generation
trees growing in the canopy of larger more dominant trees. |
Looking west toward Juniper Court, this gully has a lot of trees that fell
in the spring storm of 2003. |
Looking west toward a home at the top of the ridge, you can see trees in the
middle left of the picture that are growing very close together, growing taller
and thinner as the compete for available light. |
Looking south, the picture is taken in a meadow looking into a dense stand of
Ponderosa pine.
Looking west, this picture is taken from below a group of houses that have done
defensible space tree removal on their property. Selectively thinning this
stand will increase the properties defensible space area. |
Taken from the same spot as the picture above, now looking to the southwest.
Looking south, this picture illustrates a very dense stand of ponderosa pines,
many have broken tops. |
Looking North east, the origin of this wood pile is unknown, perhaps from a
previous tree thinning operation.
The ground in many areas of this project look similar to this picture.
There is no understory vegetation and the ground is covered in pine needles. |
