The Genesee community has approximately 1200 acres of Open Space and over
the past 25 years, the community has actively management its Open Space to
help maintain a diverse and sustainable Foothills ecosystem.Every year,
an annual budget is adopted by the Genesee Foundation Board of Directors, in
this budget, Open Space management activities are outlined with estimated
cost and benefits. The Open Space Managers Report serves as a
baseline for Genesee's 2007 Open Space Management activities. This
report is available at the Foundation office or can be downloaded below.
After the Open Space Managers Report is approved on the ground
prescriptions are made, from these prescriptions a draft Open Space
Management Plan is made available for Genesee residents and the Board of
Directors for review and comment. After comments are reviewed by the
Foundation Board of Directors A final Open Space management Plan is adopted
and on the ground activity begins.
There are plenty of opportunities for resident review and comment,
throughout the planning process, public walkthroughs and informational
posters are displayed to inform Genesee residents of upcoming Open Space
Management activities. All residents are encouraged to participate,
this is a great opportunity for Genesee residents to learn about the
ecosystem they live in.
