/ MEADOW RESTORATION - Updates & Timeline

Three areas identified (see project maps) have been treated.  Small diameter trees were removed and chipped during Genesee's annual chipping week. 

Meadow Restoration Timeline

February 2007 

  • The GEM committee selected meadows for 2007 management and the Board of Directors approved the meadow restoration projects as part of the Open Space Managers Report.   

March 2007

  • Letters were sent to residents near selected meadows on March 28th to inform them of the upcoming meadow restoration activities. 

April 2007

  • Information posters will be placed in the Foundation clubhouses. 

May 2007

  • Trees selected for removal will be visibly flagged and a public walkthrough will be scheduled. 
  • Public hike and presentation of the meadow management areas will occur on Sunday May 6 2007 from 1 - 3 pm.  Please meet along Bitterroot Lane south of Montane Drive East if you are interested in attending.

June 2007

  • Tree removal and chipping will is complete.

July - August 2007

  • Follow up and review of this project will occur, pictures and posters will be displayed at the July 4th celebration.

September 2007

  • 2008 meadow restoration projects will be selected for 2008 budget consideration.  

October 2007

  • Evaluate meadow restoration project to identify any areas in need of improvement.

November 2007

  • Evaluate meadow restoration project to identify any areas in need of improvement.

December 2007

  • Evaluate meadow restoration project to identify any areas in need of improvement.
