Wildlife

Genesee is home to an abundant wildlife community, the most visible being the resident deer and elk herd seen year round. The unique transitional nature of Genesee's foothills ecosystem provides the range of habitat necessary to host a variety of mammals, reptiles, and bird species.

As you hike Genesee trails or sit at your kitchen window, you may be curious about the animal you're watching. Educational brochures published by the Division of Wildlife as well as past newsletter articles will be placed on this page to help you become familiar with the animals that share your community ecosystem.
