Mountain Lions

The mountain lion, also known as a cougar, has a huge geographic range in the United States that includes GenesCount the catsee. They eat deer and are active year round. Once a mountain lion takes a deer, it will eat the carcass over a number of days, covering it in between feeding times. Genesee promotes healthy wildlife through minimal intervention. Animal carcasses found on open space are generally left in place, though a dead animal on a private drive or hiking trail may be moved or removed. Call the Foundation office if you have a concern.
